The integrated sound card is not supported by linux.

The NIC works.

Updating the BIOS requires Windows. I am looking into using FreeDOS to update the BIOS.

FreeDOS will not let me upgrade the BIOS. The BIOS I bought with it works, but that is no reason to exclude Linux users.

Budget board.

Two sticks of Corsair CM64SD512-3200 work nicely with this board. I salvaged those high-end chips from my failed Windows box.
