Description: Loaded up MDK10.1 fine, Rltk 8139 does not work straight out of the box, Pain in the ass to get it working, but does work after putting odd strrings into mandrake hardware configuration. Used a Netgear WG511 (had to use a firmware update) and a DWL G630 card (madwifi) pcmcia wireless cards after much reading the howto's.
ALSA sound works, but the speakers on this laptop are weak. Can play DVDs, nice screen. This is bottom end of specs. Use the lightest weight X-windows manager to save on resources and only load the apps you need, as you run out of resources quiickly and things become sluggish. You can upgrade the CPU and memory on this laptop with just a little bit of determination.
