Would you recommend the product? yes | Price you paid? (in USD): $62.00 | Rating: 9

Kernel (uname -r): 2.6.8.1-12mdk
Distribution: Mandrake 10.1

Decent burner - I've burned a CDRW, and one DVD-RW (Had to choose DAO writing in k3b to get another drive, a Sony, to mount it in Win98).

Both were sucessful. I don't have any dual layer disks to check that works.

I'm using Mandrake 10.1, and while k3b noticed the drive had changed (the burner replaced a DVD reader), I've had some problems mounting disks, but I suspect this to be a Mandrake problem, not an issue with the drive, as I've been able to read the contents of the CDRW (I don't have UDF support in Mandrake).

I'm guessing this is the newer version of the 1633s.
