A DSL modem, Firewall, Switch, Router and DHCP client/server all built-in to the one little box.
All configuration is via your browser interface (http://10.0.0.2).
It connects to my ISP (BT internet, UK, but it has all sorts of different settings for use in other countries as well) with no trouble at all, has a built-in firewall, manages my network of 3-5 computers, sharing the internet connection between them all.
I have installed two of these on linux systems, and also the simpler (and cheaper) Zoom model without the switch/router capability of the X5 - again absolutely no problems.
