Description:

I like the thought of a MP3 player with media that can be changed out and functions as a USB Flash reader. I bought this for $9 (after a $20 rebate) from tigerdirect.
I almost pulled my hair out until I figured out the media I bought (Viking 512M SD) was the problem. Luckily I had a 256M of the same manf. to compare to. Fdisk shows the 256 having the partition starting at 1 and the 512 at 4. I dd the 512 so I could reverse the formatting, then fdisked the 512, deleted the partion and recreated it starting at 1. I then (following the fdisk instructions) dd 0 to the first partion, then mkfs.msdos on the partion, and viola! it fixed the problem. The player now reads the SD.
