I had been waiting for a portable ogg player for a couple years. I highly recommend this player.

I had to make sure the player is turned off when I plug it into the USB port -- otherwise it doesn't seem to map to /dev/sda1.


[niverson@lanshark niverson]$ mount
/dev/sda1 on /mnt/usb type vfat (rw)

I did have to have root permissions to copy ogg files to the mount point using cp. I tried to chmod the permission to allow non-root write access to /mnt/usb, but it wouldn't let me change permissions. I used sudo cp zzz.ogg /mnt/usb to transfer files.

This player is fantastic, however now that I'm on linux I have a problem, when I delete the files through linux it doesn't delete them, just stores them in a folder on my player called trash. So I formatted the device using it's own software, and now when I connect it to my laptop it the disk information says there is over 900mb free but the file manager says there is only 44k free so it won't let me copy any music onto it. What's wrong here

Also if someone could let me know how to connect and manage files through amarok I would be really grateful.
