Kernel (uname -r): 2.6.8-24-default
Distribution: Suse 9.2 Professional

I use sync it with KPilot. the device name is /dev/usb/ttyUSB1 for Suse 9.2 but on other distros I think it is /dev/ttyUSB1. You may need to make sure the user has access to the device or you can create a sym-link to it (the default is /dev/pilot ).
KPilot can be used to install files, back up and sync with various desktop apps.
