There is no problems with this CPU, I have the 800MHz model that has 256kb of cache on board. it has the 133MHz bus speed enabled unlike some of the other variants, but over all it is a great CPU for its time and works well with almost any OS out there for the PC.

This is an older chip yes, (850 MHZ) and it uses a slot-1 connector and
has a cache size of 256 KB. I have a Volcano CPU cooler
and has perfomed beautifully since Slackware 8.0. and it
does utilize DMA with my maxtor hard drives.

I am using the 650MHz Mobile processor in an HP Omnibook 900. It will fully step down to around 200 MHz when on battery power, but I've noticed that it will not step back up when plugging in the power supply (requires a re-boot). This is only a minor annoyance, as overall it's a great processor
Temperature stays very low when doing everyday tasks. The cooling fan will come on as expected when under heavy load for longer periods of time (such as compiling).

This is a 1.13GHz PIII Coppermine PGA-FC which has been more than rock solid with a Intel HSF rated for 1.4GHz max.

I run a Pentium III (Coppermine) 1.002281 Ghz running at 1998.84 bogomips with 256 KB cache on the chip.
I disagree very much with deloptes, this processor is more than adequate. I consitantly outperform other more 'powerful' processors in both speed (at encodings of both audio and movies, everyday desktop tasks, acting as a server for large lan parties, mathematical computations, and so forth) and stability.

No problems under Fc3, I would even go so far as to say it should make an excelent web server, for a small, not to graphical site. I don't find it slow at all.
