This board has an NForce2 chipset, as a result a few things don't work right out of the box. For me specifically these were the network module and agp support w/ an ATI card. Both problems were solved without much trouble and besides them the board is great.

with the forcedeth reverse engineered ethernet driver, this is a great linux motherboard. without forcedeth it's still excellent, but you'll have to taint the kernel with the nvidia drivers. likewise if you'll be using the onboard sound. i give it an 8 out of 10 b/c of needing the nvidia stuff.

The board works flawlessly, except drivers are needed for the onboard 10/100 ethernet port and sound card. So I'm giving this board an 8 aswell.

Using the 2.6 kernel testing package on Slackware 10.0 cd.
All in all, this board works really well. Forcedeth drivers work with the onboard dual lan. However, I'm a bit unhappy with both the nVidia drivers and alsa drivers (though it's really not alsa's fault) for the nForce2 sound chipset. To date, I still cannot get hardware mixing support through SoundStorm with either driver. Also, as of this writing, nVidia's nvsound driver is based on OSS, instead of ALSA, which creates some interoperability problems.
Other than that, I have no problems using this board in Slackware Linux.
