Description: This is an external hard disk drive of 250 GB capacity with a USB, and only a USB, interface. My experience is that it works with Linux just fine. I used fdisk to format the AcomData drive and used the ext3 filesystem. I do not use it as a bootable drive but as an extra drive for backups and music. It mounts as SDA1.

As of March, 2005, the AcomData drives seem to offer a good value and seem compatible with Linux. I will buy more of them. Price was $250 or $219 after rebate.
Keywords: external drive USB HD250U2E3-72 disk
Chipset: Initio chipsets are used instead of the Oxford 911.
Connection Type: USB
