Description: This is a cheap, compact laser printer, up to 16ppm, 2400x600 dpi resolution, 8Mb memory, USB 2.0 interface, 250 page paper cassette.

Installed on Debian Sarge (3.1), kernel 2.6.8 using the .deb package of the Woody Linux drivers available at http://solutions.brother.com/linux

Then did "export PRINTER=HL2030", and "lpr filename.ps" prints the page.

All in all, very easy and recommended.

The product works fine but it isn't out-of-the-box printer. Needed some hard workarounds and still the actual driver doesn't work but instead i use older HL-1250 from CUPS.

Shouldn't buy this product unless you know your system well. Might work much better with other distros. There are other easier printers on the market (this one cost 90 €).

I also had to use Brother HL-2060 Foomatic/hl1250 (recommended) to get it work. I could not get the 2030 driver to install despite the FAQ.
At the highest resolution I got some strange printing but at 600DPI it works fine.

Nice and cheap printer!
