Would you recommend the product? yes | Price you paid? (in USD): None indicated | Rating: 9

Kernel (uname -r): 2.6.10
Distribution: Slackware

The standard/basic version of the GA-7VT600 board (no LAN, no firewire, no SATA. The -L is this board with onboard LAN, I believe the 1394 version has a different chipset for firewire + SATA support. On the annoying side, the IDE connectors are at the bottom of the board, so in a large case, you will need to get longer IDE cables.).

Works fine - onboard sound is disabled in the BIOS, I have an Audigy instead. AGP is fine. USB is fine (I also use the extension provided with the board for extra ports at the back).

There are BIOS firmware updates available for this board, but you can't use the fancy GUIs in Linux to install them. I have not tried installing them in Linux - you will need to create a DOS boot disk to install the updates with Linux though.
