I feel this camera performs well in its class.
This camera readily connects as a usb mass-storage device. The camera also supports the PTP protocol however, I have not used it in that mode.
Files are stored within the dcim/100_fuji/ subdirectory on the camera.
Notes about the camera:
The camera housing and plastic feels cheap, but it performs fairly well. The LCD is not protected, and can get dirty/smudged/damaged easily.
The first pair of alkaline batteries I used, which may not have been fresh, were quickly drained. I have had much better success with NiMH rechargeables.
The flash, which is reputed to be weak, is somewhat easy to put a finger on.
The USB and video out ports are exposed.
The memory card is curiously located along with the batteries behind the same access door.
Cycle time (time between pictures) is not fast
I've set the camera up with hotplug (after a fair bit of needless head-banging) to transfer pictures immediately when connected. Contact me if you would like more info on how that is achieved.
