Description: Model 980 of the PVR-250... which includes:
- Phillips NTSC tuner (ivtv type 2) ... look close, you can see the Phillips sticker under the "WinTV" sticker on the tuner housing
- SAA7115 chip
- IR Remote receiver (plugs into card)
- Remote with grey top and black bottom, which apparently behaves *alot* like the current PVR-350 remote, according to MythTV predefined remote codes.

Linux will recognize it under lspci as an "iTVC15 MPEG-2 Encoder"
Keywords: Hauppauge PVR-250 MythTV PVR TV
/sbin/lspci output: 00:0f.0 Multimedia video controller: Internext Compression Inc iTVC16 (CX23416) MPEG-2 Encoder (rev 01)
Connection Type: PCI

Beware IRQ conflicts!! If this doesn't show up nicely on lspci, immediately start rearranging PCI slot cards before you do anything else. I burned nearly two weeks because of an IRQ conflict between the PVR-250 and my Audigy MP3+.

So, if doesn't work at first... move the PVR-250 to the lead PCI slot, and move all other slot cards all the way away from it.... if necessary remove all PCI cards and starting them in one by one until you have a suitable and successfull arrangement.

IRQ conflicts aside, it works beautifully. Using MythTV 0.16 and ivtv 0.2-rc3d and everything with the card works. Use the PVR-350 remote settings MythTV has defined, however, for the remote, as the PVR-250 remote settings will not work with this particular model. Evidently the 980 is an "upgrade" of sorts, as it has a nice standard tuner (no bizarre tuners!) and a nice remote.

Playback looks great, as does recorded shows. Purchase this baby, then follow Jarod's FC3 guide... getting help from MythTV docs and #mythtv-users on Freenode, and you'll have your own VERY PVR system in no time!

/sbin/lspci output, which SHOULD SHOW iTVC15, unlike the iTVC16 somebody put in my original submission:
02:09.0 Multimedia video controller: Internext Compression Inc iTVC15 MPEG-2 Encoder (rev 01)
