No problems. All appears to work fine on my first install. Budget SATA board - May be available to UK market only? No Firewire on board.

i am highly reliant on all Onboard components, and tyhey all worked hassle free NO fiddling NO stuffups NO idle parts linux can't use.

onboard video is slightly slower then a TNT2 m64

but enough for me to play DVD's smoothly.

6 channel Sound worked straight out of box,
changed to 2 channel and used line in slot no prob.

TVcard in pci slot detected fine during Mandrake 10.1 installation

No problem, what so ever! Excellent budget board for 2 SATA discs (no RAID) and 4 IDE devices. Only 2 PCI slots available and one AGP.

In gkrellm I sometimes have 1, 2 or 3 temp sensors showing up. I think there are 2 on the board.

Hi,

Still on the subject of CPU cooling, I bought this board recently and tried out athcool - worked fine on my A7N8X Deluxe with the same Athlon XP 2000+ I have on this one now... And athcool crashes indeed.

I read this thread and gave up on having a cool athlon on this board, BUT just a few minutes ago, I found these two command lines:

on SIS741/741GX/746/748:

setpci -v -H1 -s 0:0.0 6C=$(printf %x $((0x$(setpci -H1 -s 0:0.0 6C) | 0x0003)))

disable:

setpci -v -H1 -s 0:0.0 6C=$(printf %x $((0x$(setpci -H1 -s 0:0.0 6C) & 0xfffc)))

and it works!! I've got one of those Aerogate FAN + Temp monitors from coolermaster, the cpu reported 38 C (must be a bit more, I know, it's just a copper wire stuck on the fan) and in secs it came cooling down all the way to 28 C where it still is!

Everything seems to work all right... I mean, no instabilities so far, might get in trouble but I thought I'd leave it here...

Meanwhile, since some time as also passed since the original posting here, if you guys know of a way to use it with athcool... (the current supported chipset list has the 741GX... so why is mine still crashing X and not cooling...?) let me know, ok?

Thanks!
