Gnome won't autoconfig these, so you have to install the gimp print drivers, restart cupsd and install it through the CUPS. It seems to work fine but it is not as integrated with Gnome as I might have hoped.

Definate props for having the maintainence on the hardware as opposed to a softwar util. It works great, but needs a little effort to get it working.

The SimplyMepis CD includes the C86 in its database, but there's no driver linked to it. Select the model C84, then choose Foomatic/gimp-print-ijs. Print quality is great, but the test page is a little off-register on mine: about 2mm high and to the left. It prints realistic photos on photo paper, or standard letter- or legal-size bond. High-gloss, heavy photo papers tend to stick together and may not feed well.

seems to work fine. It wasn't in the list provided by drakeprint by default, and despite I installed the drivers provided by http://www.avasys.jp/english, it first refused to install (it appeared in list but the setup wouldn't work). Still, configuration using cups ( http://localhost:631) works fine. I could print a few pages. I haven't run further tests yet.
