Description: A digital voice recorder for taking notes, etc.

Doesn't seem to work with Linux - not a mass storage device, and the manufacturer said it only supports the Windows OS.

Not a mass storage device - doesn't appear in /dev when plugged in. Olympus confirmed that it only works on Windows, even though all the Olympus digital cameras reviewed here seem to work with Linux.

Thanks for the link. I got it to work using that driver with my VN-240PC. It was a bit confusing at first because the web page has no documentation, and you don't mount the voice recorder as a USB disk as you might expect. Instead, you have to run the command odvr after installing the driver.

Sometimes I got an error "Couldn't claim interface" when trying to use it. That might be my USB ports, which have acted up before.

The files downloaded are in .wav format.

g4c9z,

Try sudo odvr -option

I have a vn3100pc. the tool reads the data but errors on download. I originally received the same error you did however sudo helped.
