This camera was VERY easy to set up on my Slackware 10 box (running 2.4.26) I pluged the camera in and turned it on and did a 'tail -f /var/log/messages' and saw this:
Dec 25 22:40:55 skoll kernel: hub.c: new USB device 00:07.2-1.3, assigned address 7
Dec 25 22:40:58 skoll kernel: Initializing USB Mass Storage driver...
Dec 25 22:40:58 skoll kernel: usb.c: registered new driver usb-storage
Dec 25 22:41:03 skoll kernel: scsi1 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices
Dec 25 22:41:03 skoll kernel: sda: sda1
Dec 25 22:41:03 skoll kernel: USB Mass Storage support registered.
after seeing that I made this small little shell scirpt.
root@skoll:/mnt# cat mnt_camera
mount -t vfat /dev/sda1 /mnt/camera/
and a umnt_camera
root@skoll:/mnt# cat umnt_camera
umount /mnt/camera
