Description: Although Adaptec does provide the source code for this driver, the 2.4 kernel does not recognize this device even when booting with an AIC-79xxx compatable boot disk (Slackware 9.1).

If I'm not mistaken this works under the aacraid driver which wasn't in the stock slack 9.1 kernel.

And it even looks like Dell themselves understand this to be the case and are pointing to alternative Slackware kernels precompiled with this driver!
