Description: The older models of these cards used a different chipset (that I have no experience with). This is the newer model using the Conexant chip. In order to get this to work on my setup (Fedora Core 2 and later 3), I had to download and compile the drivers from here (http://linux.bytesex.org/v4l2/cx88.html) because the builtin kernel drivers didn't work correctly. On loading the module, you need to set the 'tuner' parameter to '43' so:

'modprobe cx88xx tuner=43'

This worked for me. After this, I was able to view programs using tvTime (http://tvtime.sf.net). Very limited success with other viewers. No luck with MythTV whatsoever, but then again, I may have had better success if I had compiled from source/cvs.

It has a BT chipset, can not remember the numberr right now. It has an Infrared remote that does not work with Linux. I just do not know how to make it to work. The card also has a Radio Tuner that I do not know how to make it to work neither, I have not found an application that works a radio.

However, Xawtv and Zapping works excellent, better than the WinTV 2000 M$ softare. On Windows it shows a small noise line across the top of the screen on some channels. On Linux there is none and the Picture is much clear and crisp. The Card was detected during install no extra settings need it. All keyboard commads works.

I have a video capture card for a web cam, it has the same chipset at the Hauppauge TV tuner card. Did not worked one or the other when placed together, neither with M$. This 2 cards does no play well together, avoidance is a must, M$ will not boot BOSD and Mandrake will boot but just does not work at all.
