I got the modem for ~$70 at CompUSA. It's a hardware modem, so it doesn't need you to install any extra drivers - they are built as kernel modules by default. Just Plug it in, and it works.
I use it with wvdial, and have had no problem. I have not yet tested the Game Mode yet. (the Game Mode appears to bring down the latency, but sacrifices some speed)
It may be more expensive than several other modems out there, but It's worth it.
Note: this was also the only modem in the store that actually said that it works with Linux. There were also Linux instructions, but they were limited to: The drivers are in the kernel, so just turn on your computer, and it works.
