Phenomenal modem for GNU/Linux users! Works flawlessly, excellent performance, it's just a "do its job and get out of you way" hardware modem that I'm glad I purchased. A touch pricey, but if you're stuck on dialup then this modem is the best.

Quick note for those installing Gentoo: Once you got your kernel set up you'll have to emerge pciutils for your modem to work. Once that's done wvdialconf will see it right away. Since wvdial isn't included on the install CD, you'll have to toss that and wvstreams on a separate CD/floppy. Compile those by hand, then emerge wvdial once you got your modem working. No sweat, really.

Again, I strongly suggest this modem for the few dialup users out there.

I got the modem for ~$70 at CompUSA. It's a hardware modem, so it doesn't need you to install any extra drivers - they are built as kernel modules by default. Just Plug it in, and it works.

I use it with wvdial, and have had no problem. I have not yet tested the Game Mode yet. (the Game Mode appears to bring down the latency, but sacrifices some speed)

It may be more expensive than several other modems out there, but It's worth it.

Note: this was also the only modem in the store that actually said that it works with Linux. There were also Linux instructions, but they were limited to: The drivers are in the kernel, so just turn on your computer, and it works.
