When KDE loads, I get a message
"You monitor did not report is X and Y geometry correctly" however, I can read everything without a problem, so I just ignore it. This happens on the stock 2.6.4 kernel. When I compiled 2.6.9, this no longer happens.
Very happy with my laptop, you should probably add for RAM though.

Gentoo 2004.3 and 2005.0 have worked flawlessly. There is no need to get the ATI drivers from the link I posted earlier as the default install of gentoo allows 3d accelertation.
I still haven't tried the modem since I use either my LAN connection at work, or wireless at work. (wireless added after purchase)
