Kernel (uname -r): 2.6.10-2-386
Distribution: Ubuntu Hoary Array 3

I installed Unbuntu Hoary Array 3 and the SanDisk reader works perfectly. You plug in the card reader, then insert your memory card, and an icon appears on your Gnome desktop along with a popup message indicating photos were found and asks if you would like to import them. If you click on the import button gThumb opens and the mount point is shown in the list. You click on the folder that holds your photos and you will see a thumbnail of all images on the memory card. Simply drag and drop them to your storage location. You then right click on the desktop icon and unmount the volume to be able to safely remove your memory card. gThumb won't let you import any videos on the card, it won't even show them. You can, however, start up the Nautilus file browser and go to the appropriate location and pull your videos off the memory card.
I use a SanDisk memory card and things work perfectly. I'm not sure why but when I use the Canon FC-32MH memory card that came with my camera it doesn't work.

I accidentally posted that last review as an Unregistered user. I thought people might want a name to go with a review.
