Distribution: Slackware 10.0 & SuSE 9.1



Works perfectly out of the box. connected on /dev/hdd (i.e. secondary slave)

K3b burns DVD's and CD's fine.

BTW I paid £65 UK Sterling for the full retails box

Detected fine
runs fine. installed suse 9.2 using that one.
have not tried to burn any dvds yet

Used this drive to install Slackware 10.0 in a new system. Absolutely no problems. Haven't tried to burn DVDs yet.

Worked virtually out the box on my SuSE 9.2 box with k3b. Had to change permissions on /dev/hdd to allow k3b to see it, but appart from that it burns DVD's fine. Haven't tried DL burning yet though

Distribution: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS


Not a yes and not a no... more like a so-so.
According to HCL, this will burn DVD-R, but in reality it doesn't. Everything else is fine.
