problems: portage tree not updated -> X would not start, image flickery, distorted when X did start, all the other things you would imagine.

Driver that works: november 5 driver from NVidia:

I'm very satisfied with this card's performance and it's quietness. It has a very small fan and the passive ribs are not more than 3 mm tall. My computer is very silent but for the processor now.

I am fully satisfied with this card under Linux. Especially after having run ATI cards in previous builds. I am running the AMD64 Drivers v1.0-7167 March 11, 2005 and getting excellent performance in Doom3 and UT2004. Top notch vid cards and Linux finally unite! Installation was too easy :~)

Worked great out of the box w/o 3D acceleration. Had to use nvidia installer for 3D acceleration. Now on to getting Compiz/XGL working...

Used the nvidia driver, and getting perfect 3D acceleration. Playing Cube 2: Sauerbraten (GUI edition) - about 150 to 180 FPS at 1280x1024. Perfect card for XGL and gaming.
