Description:

Pentium 4 Processor, 512+ MB RAM 30+GB HD, CD Burner / DVD Player, 2x USB2, 1x Firewire, 15" screen, S-Video, 1 PCMCIA slot, IR Port.
Fedora Core 1: Problems with graphics and firewire during installation that were worked around at the time (eg delete rhgb add 3) of boot.
Fedora Core 2: Did an inplace upgrade, which basically worked and have used for 6 months. I did not use firewire nor usb devices, nor infrared so I don't know if FC2 supported them on this notebook. At one stage the machine would boot with the touchpad disabled, and it wouldn't re-enable (no fun).
Fedora Core 3 test 1/2/3: Easiest to get working, no problems that I remember. Again haven't used usb, firewire nor IR under linux. Touchpad works fine. System clock runs slow (eg takes 75-90 seconds for a real minute - think this was a problem with FC2 as well).
CD writing with K3B is OK, including RW disks.
Just got a wireless network pccard [d-link dwl-G650] working yesterday. The d-link uses a atheron chip, and since I couldn't find a madwifi driver built for FC3test kernels, I downloaded source, and compile/install. Adding the ip address and routes to make the card talk on the network took some effort.
