Used Ndiswrapper, which, incidentally could do with having itīs instructions re-written for easier use. Once the Window$ drivers were extracted from the CD,it works with little effort. An observation which might cause you to think itīs not working. The card is not permanently powered up as it is under Window$, so you think itīs not working initially. It seems under Linux, it only powers up when needed. Other than these couple of issues, all in all a very successful card.

Works absolutely fine with ndiswrapper (http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net) if you follow the directions step by step. Problems have been reported with the Belkin driver and ndiswrapper, so I used the A-link card's driver instead.
Later, I found and grabbed the fantastic new rt2400/rt2500 driver for Linux (http://rt2400.sourceforge.net), and it seems to work as well. I haven't tested its connectivity with access points or other cards in ad hoc mode.
Note that the two LEDs on the card don't light right away, even if the card has been modprobed successfully and standing by. They should light, however, once you're connected to something.

My first card was faulty, which led to much frustration. Eventually trying it on a Windows XP laptop proved it to be faulty. A replacement was acquired from Belkin. The instructions on the Ubuntu wiki worked first time, with no trouble.

Once I figured out how to use ndiswrapper, it was quite simple to get up and running. Used the drivers off the Belkin CD (BCMWL5) without issue. Now I'm off to set up some different profiles,etc.

I used the rt2500 driver from http://rt2400.sourceforge.net. It needs a bit of googling and probing to get the card working, but it does its job good. :-) As mentioned, the card's LEDs do not flicker or light until you really connected to some LAN network, this confused me at the beginning.

This is a great card, it works fine in the latest two or three versions of Ubuntu as it uses the Atheros chipset. No ndiswrapper needed for a while now.
It's very inexpensive too. A (possible) downside is that it doesn't have signal/activity lights but that is fine for me. Also, for what it's worth, the antenna's color matches the black plastic on a ThinkPad perfectly.
Ironically it is very hard to install this card in Windows because Belkin's provided drivers are really terrible. Even after somehow installing it, you can expect it to stop working. In Linux it works fine.

This card works right out of the box with Kubuntu and Ubuntu. No need for NDISwrapper. Just plug-and-play. Also, contrary to other reviews, I do see an activity light when the card is connected to a wireless network and another light blinks during data transfer. Doesn't get much eaiser than this.

I Installed Unbuntu Edgy Eft on my Dell Latitude C600. The wireless card worked out of the box, same as the prebvious posters claimed on their Ubuntu systems. It was a cheap card too. $36 at Staples. The cheapest one they had. You can use the gui to enable this interface. I simply checkmarked ath1, double clicked on it, and typed the name of my SSID in there. It asked for a wep key. 1,2,3 done!

worked well with Windows XP, Ubuntu didn't recognize it on mine, and i have a Dell Latitude C610. Could someone fix the broken link for the driver file.
After installing (I used the cvs version), no real problems, I'm having trouble picking up non-broadcast SSID, but that's about it. Someone else mentioned this also, but don't be disheartened if the lights don't come on at first.
