Would you recommend the product? yes | Price you paid? (in USD): $2,100.00 | Rating: 7

Kernel (uname -r): 2.4.26 and 2.6.7
Distribution: gentoo

framebuffer dosen't work well.
wireless network is only stable at lower transfer volumnes (great for ssh etc, poor for pulling hundreds of megs)
wireless driver is orinoco_pci

This laptop came with 256 meg of ram, youll need some swap to install ubuntu but better upgrade your ram to 512 or more.

After that installation went fine.

Pro's
* System runs at a respectable speed.
* Sound works
* wireless reports to work, didnt test.
* Network works.
* usb works.
* HP 1020 laserjet runs fine once firmware was installed.

Con's
* Internal modem reports to be there but I could not get it to work.
* no 3d accel.
* Needed to edit xorg.conf to get 1024x748 (was 800x600)

Overall, if your ok about the modem not working and dont use 3d and can upgrade ram. This runs well.
