I've had no big problems. Don't know about the modem though, haven't tried it. Only downside caused by the OS change was numpad functionality, but I'm pretty sure that can be worked around... if not, then I have to play MUDs with an external keyboard =)

Touchpad works well with synaptics driver.

Graphics are poor when playing videos. Other devices works well.

Serious over heating problems, it fuses expect that I have replaced new thermal creases.
Processor fan keeps noise all the time.
