Description: The Logitech Cordless Comfort Duo is so far, my favorite keyboard, and I even like the mouse.

The keyboard is a slightly modified version of the Microsoft Natural ergonomic keyboard. I hate the MS keyboard for 2 simple reasons:

1. The arrow keys on the natural keyboard aren't in standard configuration.
2. The home/end pgup/pgdwn keys are smaller and easier to "fat-finger" on the natural.

The logitech keyboard solves both of these problems. The arrow keys are in the familar upside down T formation and the home/end/pgup/pgdwn/delete/insert keys are all full size, although the vertical orientation (as opposed to the traditional horizontal) takes a little getting used to.

The "F" keys are slightly smaller than normal, but the spacing between them makes this a non-issue.

The extra keys are not supported under *nix afaik, but I've never really used them under Windows, so this wasn't and issue for me.

The mouse is fairly ergonomic and feels good in your hand, even if you have smaller hands as I do. It's a 4 button mouse (2 main, scroll wheel, and another that rests under the thumb on the side of the mouse). The thumb button was automatically recognized under slackware 10 (x.org) and is used the same as the scroll wheel acts when it is pressed.

The only problem one might have with the mouse is it is definatly right-hand only.

Battery life is extreamly good, and enough batteries are included with the box to get you up and running. I use this keyboard and mouse at work, so it gets a lot of use. I've been running on the supplied batteries for a little over 3 weeks now. The keyboard is still going strong, but I've started to notice a little lag in the mouse. I'll probably end up replacing the mouse batteries in another day or two.

Overall, I'd give this product a 10/10

I don't know if I have the same combo. I do have a logitech econo model cordless kb/mouse combo- model name y-rk56a.

I had a gift certificate from work to the local mall so I used it at Circuit City. Online stores have it for less including shipping; save 10-15$.

I built a Mandrake for a friend who lives in a tiny studio apt, so space was an issue. When I installed the o/s I had this plugged in. The o/s installed in gui and worked after with no problems.

Since this is not the keyboard I use, there might be hiccups with everyday use.

You can get the extra functions keys working with keyTouch. Because keyTouch doesn't support this keyboard yet, you will have to create a keyboard file for it. This is done easily by using keytouch-editor. Documentation for keytouch-editor is found here: http://keytouch.sourceforge.net/keytouch_editor/
Send your keyboard file to marvinr(at)users(dot)sourceforge(dot)net so that other users do not have to create a keyboard file.
