I spent a week fighting with this motherboard, installing both Gentoo and Slackware with 2.4 and 2.6 kernels. It would lock the system up whenever you stressed the IDE bus. (File transfers, un-tar-ing, etc). One time it even locked up right after a reboot.
In between lockups, I was also unable to get the onboard LAN working. I compiled support into the kernel, and it was recognized, but it never actually worked.
This was the single worst PC component I've had in the past 7 years, and I won't be buying from Gigabyte again.
