This motherboard has good compatibility with Linux. All functions work as they should. I have flashed the BIOS to the latest available (which is still easy to get off the Epox website) using the alt+f2 method. No problems there. It currently has a Duron 800mhz on it and works as it should. The IDE controller seems to work as it should, bringing speeds to ATA100 standards. The hardware sensors even work out of the box, without fiddling. I did not have to install any third party drivers or do any manual tweaks to make it work.

One problem with this board. This goes for the other Redmond based operating system as well. The onboard sound really sucks! It functions in the fact that one can hear sound but it is rife with crackles and pops and no mount of googling or driver/module tweaking would make that annoying sound abate. I was resigned to install my old SB Live! Gamer card on it and there was no problem after that with sound (I disabled the onboard through BIOS and there was no fighting). I had expected to have problems as the SBLive is supposed to cause even more problems, but all is going well. All in all a decent board for Thorobread, Athlon, and Duron processors if you want to add your own sound card.
