Syntax SV266AD Motherboard is built around the VIA KT266A and VT8235 chipset. This mainboard supports Socket A that accommodates AMD athlon processors with a frontside bus (FSB) speeds up to 266MHz.
The KT266A supports two banks of DDR Synchronous DRAMs up to 2GB for unbuffered modules. Also supports full AGP v2.0 capability including 1X, 2X and 4X mode transfer, SBA, Flush/Fence commands and pipelined grants.
VT8235 Southbridge supports standard intelligent peripheral controllers such as USB 2.0/1.1 and Universal HCI 2.0/1.1, real time clock with 256 byte extended CMOS, integrated bus-mastering dual full-duplex direct-sound AC '97 link compatible sound system and full System Management Bus (SMBUS) interface.
Expansion is provided with one AGP slot and five PCI slots. It also comes with a built-in Enhanced PCI Bus Master PCI IDE controller that provides high-speed connections to a full range of IDE devices such as HDD and CD-ROM drives. ATX form factor.

This board is getting old!I must say I love it.I have a wd harddrive 320 gb.On it I run Ubuntu Ultimate,Mint,and Suse 10.3.Secondary drive wd 80 gb Ubuntu 7.10 and ugh. windozoes home vista.IT has never met a linux distro it does not like.They are apparently out of bizz,tO BAD.

amd 2400 + clocked to a tad over 2.0 running solid on this setting last five years.
nvidia 5500 fx 256 mb
2gig lo density ram
