an mp3 player that uses cf-cards, and can be mounted over usb just like an external drive. No onboard memory so you have to have a cf-card, and I would recommend a cf-card reader because file transfer through the nex2e is slow. The cd cards need to be formatted properly for the nex to read them.
The nex has taken a beating and seems to be all weather capable, just don't get it wet.
Almost two years later and many hours of use in construction all-weather conditions, some dust has gotten into the player and fouled the buttons. Either that or they were worn out. Without the dust it still works great.
