Description: MSI CR52-M is an IDE cd-burner capable of writing both CD-Rs and CD-RW. It is written on the box that it is capable of reading at speed 52x, and writing at speed 32x. I have only tested writing at 16x and it worked very properly. I burnt the CD with cdrecord.

cdrecord -scanbus returns the following:

0,0,0 0) 'MSI ' 'CD-RW CR52 ' '3.60' Removable CD-ROM

I am using the "hdb=ide-scsi" append option in lilo.conf and a 2.4 kernel.
Keywords: cdrom cdr burner writer CD-RW Micro-star
Connection Type: IDE

Works fine for me as far as compatibility with Linux, but I am still working on getting packet-writing to work. The device is capable, just requires some fiddling I think.
Also known as MSI 8352M.
The device was OEM for me, so price unknown, but I think around $50.00 U.S.
Firmware is upgradeable currently to v3.70; upgrade worked fine for me and improved performance/reliability slightly.
