An awesome camera that had too many features for its price range. I picked one up in the summer of 2002 and used it for work. Wound up purchasing three Memory Sticks for it and a separate reader as well.
A fast enough camera with pretty bright optics, the best feature by far was the 37mm screw-mount on the lens. This allows you to attach filters and adpters (usually made for Sony camcorders) which is a real bonus as the outdoor subjects really needed a polarized filter on sunny days, and a wide-angle lens is just too much fun.
I'd recommend that users purchase the optional InfoLithium battery and charger as I manged to chew through a lot of AA's in a hurry and the run-time for the lithium cell is considerably longer, especially when using the LCD display (a requirement when using liear polarized filters).
One other caveat is that some kernels may fuss about wrong block size when changing memory sticks. One solution I found was to unload the usb-storage module and allow it to reload itself after re-seating the USB connector.
