Description: The Iomega ZIP 250 USB is similar to the Iomega ZIP 100 USB drive. It can read both 100MB and 250 MB disks under Windows or Macintosh, but you can only mount 250 MB disks under Linux. The drive has to mounted as a SCSI device (/dev/sdxx) even if you don't have a SCSI system on your computer (in RedHat/Fedora Core systems). The partition number varies depending on whether the disk was formatted in a Windows, Macintosh (PC-format) or a Linux operating system. No additional drivers are necessary to mount the drive (drivers are built into the kernel). Pre-2.4.x kernels require manual mounting, but post-2.4.x kernels automatically mount the zip drive, and put an icon on the desktop for you. To unmount, right click the icon and choose eject or unmount using a command line, and press the eject button on the drive.
