Description: A workhorse black and white laser printer, these are available very cheaply, and run forever on a cheap toner cartridge - I am a student who does quite a lot of printing, and I last changed the toner about 4 years ago!

Works fine under Fedora Core 2 with CUPS, however many (graphically heavy) pages won't print, due to a lack of printer memory - the screen on the printer will read MEM OVERFLOW or similar.

A fix for this problem is a 1MB ram upgrade (to bring the total ram up to 2MB), which is available easily for less than 10 bucks from suppliers or on ebay (I got mine for 3 GBP).

The printer is upgradable to about 8 Meg of RAM if I remember correctly, certainly it can hit 4.

I have not tested the serial port under linux, as the parallel port works just fine :)

Great printer, works fine.

Only problem is the low resolution of graphics output.
