Description: I picked up an Epson Stylus C66 today for $55 and it works beautifully with Fedora Core 2 and the gimp-print drivers.
With the USB interface FC2 picked it up immediately on reboot and it is working great. The C66 isn't listed in the gimp-print driver list but the C64 driver works just perfectly.
Using the printer settings tool under Gnome, I've successfully adjusted the output quality from 360dpi draft to 2880x1440dpi high res photo quality.
I've spent half the day printing everything from low res draft text docs in openoffice to high res photos in gimp and everything in between and the printer works great.

It works well with Linux but it is not that a good a printer.
Although I have only done black and white so far
Putting paper in it is a bit of a pain and so I don't know if I would recommend for that reason.

Actually DO NOT buy it broke after 7 weeks I have not even finished printing it.

Go to

http://www.epkowa.co.jp/english/linux_e/dl_ink.html

There you find for EVERY EPSON PRINTER the necessary file as well for cups than for lpr (for free of course)

It seems to work fine with the C64 driver.
Using "alien" and "dpkg" I installed the C66 driver from http://www.epkowa.co.jp/english/linux_e/dl_ink.html to check if it is any better but the printer doesn't work with that one.

Is it because I use debian? Any chance of having the driver updated?

Cheers
