First of all, this device as a palm will sync in both ways, serial, or usb, i haven't tested it with ir.

I'm gonna tell you how i make it work with USB cable (i proved it on fedora core 2 and 3, may work similar in other distributions), i used kpilot, it works with gnome-pilot too.

Configuring kpilot:
In order kyocer 7135 works, you need to configure kpilot.

Do not use the wizard, it will not detect your device.

Go straight to the settings in kpilot software and at device, use this as your pilot device

/dev/ttyUSB1
change the speed to 115200
put a name if you havent sync your keyocera 7135 before

when you sync your kyocera7135 create a temporary device named ttyUSB0 and ttyUSB1, you have to change the permissions of ttyUSB1 in order to acces to it as a normal user.

it may not work at the first attempt, try again in a few minutes.

When you sync wwith serial cable it creates a device named ttyS0 instead of ttyUSB1
