Description: This is a fairly small color printer. It has good print quality with good size cartridges. I have also refilled the black cartridge with good results.

It prints pretty fast and can print pictures pretty good for a regular printer.
Keywords: Inkjet printer color
Connection Type: Parallel port and a USB port.

It is perfectly compatible with cups, though not with gimp-print, take the HP Deskjet 900 Series if you have problems.
There should be a solution with the PPD-files, but it doesn't work for me (see http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=HP-DeskJet_3820 for more info).

Installed ok during Linux distribution instal (CUPS has preinstalled options to configure HP printers))

With some software print programs ,for example Open Office, cannot access printer properties box.

In any event changeable properties at run time are much less than with Windows driver, for example there's no option to optimise for photocopying.
