Description: This is a wireless access point that will communicate with another wireless access point, wireless router, and even wireless network cards. It is an external unit that is configured via the web browser. It has one ethernet plug in the back, and comes with a crossover cable. In order to access the bridge, the user must change their ip from dhcp to the ip of the bridge. This is simple for linux users, and a pain in windows.
Keywords: External Wireless ethernet access-point
Connection Type: ethernet

This product can be configured via your web browser. If you know how to change your ethernet ip to and from dhcp to static, then this is a breeze. The web configuration is written in javascript so it works without a hitch.

Cautions:
There are some glitches if your screen resolution is not high enough, you cannot scroll over and view all of the menu item. Clicking on one of the top items will then let you scroll.

I could net get WEP-ASK security to work with this unit. I could only get it to work with my wireless router using open system PSK.

I hooked up a netgear ethernet switch and plugged more than one computer into this access point, and it works like a charm. This is an external piece of equipment, so there is no hardware install. If you're looking for a simple way to go wireless, this is it!

This is my second bridge; the first is a dlink. I am on a B lan with a linksys ap/router. I never was able, even after telephone help and an exchange, to get more than the internet connection working which works good but it can't see the other computers not even itself on the lan in linux or windows. Very strange.

My intent was to plug eth0 cable to this box. I spent 2 full days with Motorolla support and I could not get this unit to go beyond "Associate mode". Assocociate mode means it sees my router. I could ping the bridge, but could not get to the router.
We tried every option from static settings to dhcp.

I consider the unit as flawed. Firmware version was 4 April 2004.
