This is a high performing feature rich and relatively cheap board mainly targeted for a Pentium 4 system with hyperthreading, 800MHz FSB, dual channel ddr400. It has from 2003-2004 been given top reviews as beeing a winner in both performance, stability and price.

SuSE didn't find my S-ATA disk, and after a few attempts I gave up and installed on a P-ATA disk instead. When the system works, most things seem to work, but far too many times the system failed in booting or behaved unstable in general. It also refused to find a pci-fax modem, a usb-scanner and a hauppauge PVR 250 tv-card.
So at least for SuSE 9.1 Pro it did not work well enough.... if someone else has this board and has tried a different distro I would really like to know. For the moment I am trying another board.

Hello,
Did you visit the SiS website, the have a "Beta" driver for the SiS 180 SATA interface.
For me this mainboard works like a fast rabbit....
The problems with PCI modems I did not encounter, I not have a PCI (soft)modem if you buy a top mainboard what runs fast you not install a cheap 5US$ modem
