Description: Hewlett Packard Scanjet 3300c seems work work out of the box with mandrake 10 official, but not with more generic linuxes like slackware. there is a patch to the SANE backend to support this scanner, which is what I believe MDK did. I didn't have success with this method, as my SANE source was newer than the patch supported, and I didn't want to down-grade it.

so, it somewhat works, if you have the correct distribution, or time necessary to patch the sources because it is not yet integreated into the SANE backend source

Kernel (uname -r): 2.6.6 on slackware, 2.6.4/5(not sure) on mdk 10
Distribution: slackware/mandrake

Could not get to opperate, even after patching sane backends.
