Kernel (uname -r): 2.6.4-54.5-default
Distribution: SuSe 9.1

The only beef I have with this NC8000 laptop is with the internal NIC. The Broadcom device does not (or cannot!) get an IP address when using dhcp on boot-up. For some reason, the IP address is only picked up *after* the boot sequence has finished. To make matters worse, the NIC **NEVER** succeeds in getting an IP address when I connect to my cable modem. The investigation continues!

The correct driver (tg3) was picked up and installed by YaST2 upon first-time installation, and apparently (from my exhaustive research) there should not be any problem using the tg3 driver.

Please note that I did not have trouble getting an IP address when I connected the NIC to an enterprise LAN.
