being a cf device, the standard format is fat16, which has a hard time recognising devices > 2GB, so i had to reformat it vfat fat32, which worked great for the Z, btu Sharp's weird little file transfer app wouldn't write to it, so a few hassles there.

on the other side of things, openzaurus/opie recognised it out of the box as a ATA/IDE fixed CF disk, and mounted it no problems at all.

so the 9 is for lack of commercial vendor support, the drive itself works flawlessly
