Description: The modem is very flexible as far as its usability is concerned, it is a Fax Data and Voice modem. Connections at the back provided are an RS232 interface, Line In, Phone, speaker and mic input, power socket and and on/off toggle switch.

I installed it on a PIII 667 machine using Red Hat 9 and no drivers were required except i had to manually configure it to get on the internet. It works! i will be checking it on other machines as well including the recently acquired Thinkpad T41

Only problem I had was related to KPPP and pppd. pppd was looking for the modem to be at /dev/modem, the device is usually attached to your serial port (/dev/ttyS0 or S1). All I needed to do was make the symbolic link like this:
ln -s /dev/ttyS0 /dev/modem
and before you know it, Moms PC was talking to NetZero.

Oh, and I placed the modem inside the PC case. she does not know that she has an "external" modem. the only clue is a wall wart PS and com1 cable going into the vacant PCI slot. :)
