works quite well with any dvd, provided you have the dvd libs nessesary for the player to play it. although, if you emulate it as a scsi device under kernel 2.6, you might have to change the symlink /dev/dvd from /dev/hdx (x is the number or letter) to /dev/scdx (x is the number), otherwise it might not work at all.
