Description: THis camera does not have a USB interface (only serial) so it cannot be used with gPhoto, however buying a USB SmartMedia card reader (I used the Sandisk DDR-55) allows you to download images off the camera's memory card very easily.

Well, you do need a SmartMedia reader that works in Linux if you want to download photos off the camera but I just wanted to say that I am very happy with the D450Z and I have played with other Olympus cameras that use Smart Media storage and I've liked all of them.

if you plan to pick one up, find a Smart Media reader as well and you'll be all set.

The D450Z is long since discontinued but it's a good one to pick up used if 1.3 megapixels is ok for you.
